Brussels City Centre Information

The city centre of Brussels is divided into two main areas. The larger westerly portion comprises the Lower Town, where the marvelous Grand-Place, exquisite guild houses and town hall are located while up above to the east lies the much smaller Upper Town, home to the finest art collection in the country in the Musées Royaux des Beaux Arts.

Just south of the Grand’ Place there is a Flemish renaissance styled church named Notre Dame de Bon Secours which represents a baroque masterpiece.
Opposite the Town Hall stands another remarkable neo-gothic historical Building of Brussels called the "Maison du Roi".
The St. Michael and Gudula Cathedral is a beautiful chirch in Gottic style only 2 blocks west of Brussels Central Train Station.

In Brussels city centre, restaurants and museums are clustered, enclosed within the petit ring, which follows the path of the 14th-century city walls. Pull up a chair and join laissez-faire locals who value the city’s casual atmosphere. From here, narrow cobbled streets open suddenly.

Rue des Bouchers is the most characteristic pedestrian street with numerous cafes and restaurants where The Royal St Hubert Galleries is located – a two hundred meters of listed monument divided into 3 parts, the Queen's Gallery, the King's Gallery and the the Princes' Gallery.

Other most famous streets around the city centre are: Petite rue des Bouchers, Rue des Dominicains, Rue de la Fourche and Rue Grétry.
The Place de la Bourse is the second most important square in the city center of Brussels where the building that houses the Brussels Stock Exchange (the Bourse) is situated.
Brussels Taxi transfer from Brussels Airport to Brussels city centre costs about 43 Euros.
