A reliable and professional Taxi Service I was impressed with both the professionalism and the easiness of booking on line. The contacts by email both confirming my booking and reminders when it was nearer to the date booked. Most reassuring was the phone number and named driver given the day before booked date. The driver was both polite and friendly plus an excellent driver.
A comfortable and safe service.

Johannesburg Airport Transfer Service

Johannesburg is undergoing rapid development in recent years and is looking at an optimistic future. It’s the financial and industrial centre of South Africa, with a long history in gold mining. The new Maboneng district is full of trendy restaurants and cafes, while contemporary art is booming. On the other hand, in Soweto, you can still witness the deep contrasts between classes.

Must-visit places in Johannesburg

In this friendly city, there’s so much to see. You can learn more about the history in the Apartheid Museum and Constitution Hill. In Soweto, you can visit the Mandela House Museum and Freedom Square. We suggest day trips to Pretoria, the administrative capital of the country, as well as, the Lion Park, where you can have a close-up experience with these wild animals.

Bus, railway and taxi transportation

Gautrain is a fast, modern railway service which serves only two lines. The first line connects Johannesburg to Pretoria, while the second one runs from Sandton to the airport. It’s quite safe and much faster than the MetroRail, but the cost is higher. Metrorail serves a larger area, including some of the bigger cities in South Africa. Park Station is the central station located in the centre of Johannesburg.

Buses are a cheap way of transportation. The Rea Vaya buses have dedicated lines, and you can travel relatively fast between destinations. The line C-3 is particularly useful, as it is circulating the city centre, passing by the main attractions. However, using a bus in Johannesburg is not recommended for tourists. Unless you know the city well, it’s a better option to take a Johannesburg taxi.

Taking a taxi in Johannesburg is a fast and safe way to get around the city. Calling or booking a licensed taxi is the best option. They all have yellow signs on the top of the vehicle and charge by the meter.

OR Tambo International airport is Africa’s busiest and a significant hub for arriving in South Africa. It’s 30 km east of Sandton.

Johannesburg airport transport options

The recent changes and rapid development of Johannesburg resulted in improved and upgraded transportation system. There are regular train and bus lines from the airport to Johannesburg and Pretoria, as well as taxi and private transfer providers.

There is a high-speed Gautrain line between OR Tambo International and Sandton. The travel time is only 14 minutes. If you want to continue your journey to Pretoria, there is a new line from Johannesburg to Pretoria. The train station at the airport is between terminals A and B.

Buses depart from the bus terminal at the airport. Five bus lines are operating from OR Tambo International to Johannesburg, in the morning and the evening. However, the bus service is not recommended for tourists, so it would be wiser to take a licensed airport taxi located at the taxi ranks or book a private Johannesburg airport transfer.

Booking a private airport transfer in advance

Whether you’re arriving in this city for the first time or have visited it many times, we will make sure you have a stress-free journey to your destination. We provide an all-inclusive Johannesburg transfer service with professional chauffeurs and comfortable vehicles. The driver will meet you at the airport holding a sign with your name and take you to the address you assigned in the booking. It is a door-to-door service, so you can be sure you will arrive on time.

Another benefit is that the reservation for the Johannesburg airport taxi is made before your arrival. You can make the booking online, and we will take care of the rest. The cost for the airport transfer is fixed, with luggage included and charged by vehicle. It is especially convenient if you’re travelling with a group of people. Therefore you can split the cost. Depending on the number of passengers and amount of luggage, choose a vehicle according to your needs.

A private airport taxi from OR Tambo International to Johannesburg city centre cost starts from 370 ZAR, one way. Our other popular locations include Fourways, Germiston and Potchefstroom.
