Alexandria Transportation
Alexandria is readily accessible from most of Egypt by bus, train or taxi. The trains are very enjoyable, cost effective and also very fast. The road to Cairo is 200 km and can be driven by taxi between 3 to 4 hours it depends of the traffic. The taxis in Alexandria are very noticeable, black and yellow. There's a Micro Bus as well, a 12 mini seaters van. There is also ‘Calesh’ a horse drawn carriages who can get you around town and take you to the sea front. Set one block from the sea are also tram lines who run parallel to the cost as to the city as well.

Alexandria International airport or El Nouzha Airport is located in Alexandria Egypt and is 7 km southwest of the city center. The airport offers domestic destination as well as cities across the arab world. Egypt Air is the largest airline of the airport, operating 50 regional flights with the mixture of Embraer and Airbus.
The airport is currently closed and is scheduled for reopening this year in 2013.
All traffic was transferred to Borg el Arab airport which is set in Borg el arab dessert and is now the principal airport of Alexandria due to recent closure in 2011.
