Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, is well known for its rich architecture with Chinese, South Asian and French influences. The city went through decades of war and today is one of the fastest developing sites in this part of the world. The vibrant street life and great food are just a part of the unique Hanoi charm.
The Hanoi Old Town is the main attraction where tourists can stroll down the streets and explore the history that goes 1,000 years back. In the southern part of the Old Town, you can visit the Hoan Kiem Lake where the main attraction is the small island that holds the Ngoc Son temple. Other places of interest you need to visit are the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, the Hoa Lo Prison Museum, and the Military History Museum.
Hanoi transportation
The traffic in Hanoi is bustling and chaotic, so maybe that’s why the motorcycle is the most used transportation mode. There are several bus stations spread over the city, and they’re useful for reaching destinations in different parts of Vietnam. Travelling by train is another option to get from Hanoi to Sapa, Hue, Ho Chi Minh City and other major cities.
The taxi service in Vietnam is very affordable, and it’s handy for tourists who are visiting the country for the first time. Several Hanoi taxi companies offer metered taxi services. It’s recommended to use only trusted Hanoi taxis as some will try to scam and charge you by high-speed-meters.
Due to the messy traffic in Hanoi, travelling by car is not recommended. However, if you’re planning to visit other places outside Hanoi like Viet Tri and Hoa Lu, car rental would be an excellent choice. You can rent a car in Hanoi at the airport or one of the representative offices located on major streets in the city.
Hanoi airport transfer options
Noi Bai International Airport is the second busiest in Vietnam. The Hanoi airport serves the capital and the surrounding area with domestic and international flights. It’s approximately 35 km northeast of Hanoi, and you can reach it via bus, taxi and private transfer.
Bus #17 runs from Hanoi airport to Long Bien bus station and the journey time is around 90 minutes. The Express bus 86 is a more comfortable option and operates from Hanoi airport to Hanoi train station.
Hanoi airport taxi service is available outside the terminals. The official airport taxis have a unified look, and it’s recommended to take one of them. Many taxi drivers will try to scam you, so beware before you get in a taxi.
How to organise private transfer
To avoid scams and other inconveniences, we recommend booking a private Hanoi airport transfer with us. The airport transfer service is arranged before your arrival, so when you arrive in Hanoi, the driver will meet you and take you directly to your accommodation. We organise transfers to any part of the city, as well as, to Ninh Binh, Nai Phong, Tam Coc, and other cities in Vietnam.
In the service, flight monitoring is included free of charge. Thus you don’t have to worry if you have flight delays as we will update the pickup time. Our extensive fleet of vehicles includes sedan cars, minivans, minibuses and buses. You can choose a vehicle that will suit your needs, and you will be charged a fixed cost for the private Hanoi airport taxi.
Check the price for a transfer from Hanoi airport to Hanoi city centre.
Please select a destination from the list to set it as pick up point. We will ask you to choose a drop-off point at the next step. This booking method is an alternative way to make a booking if you prefer selecting destinations instead of searching.
My only critique - the vehicle did not have City Airport Taxi on the outside. This meant both he and we did not recognise each other for a couple of minutes. This is a minor critique and by no means a complaint.
The price was the best quote we got on the Internet. Highly recommend.
