Antigua is an island in the Caribbean Sea, with a population of over 80.000 people. It is one of the two islands that make up the Caribbean nation of Antigua and Barbuda.

Antigua is among the most beautiful Caribbean islands, and it is known for its charm, history, breathtaking sandy beaches, coral reefs and all-inclusive resorts. Antigua also has diverse species of flora and fauna including one of the rarest snakes in the world called the Antiguan racer.

The official language spoken in Antigua is English, and their official currency is the Eastern Caribbean Dollar (DOP). The public transport on the island consists of several ports and harbours, bus services and taxis. Public transport vehicles have marks on their licence plates. The buses are marked by the letters BUS and taxis by TX. If you are planning to drive around the country, you should know that driving is on the left side of the road.

One of the Caribbean's most developed towns and the capital of Antigua and Barbuda is St. John's. The town attracts many tourists for its many resorts and shopping malls that sell designer jewellery and haute-couture clothing. Some of the most famous attractions there are St. John's Cathedral, the Museum of Antigua and Barbuda and the Heritage Quay.

St. John's public transportation system consists only of minivan buses and taxis. The bus service operates daily from 5:30 am to 6:00 pm and offers routes to many locations on the island. The taxis have fixed prices, and you can easily find them throughout the island.

V. C. Bird International Airport is the main one in the country, located 8 km from the capital of St. John's. It has over 980.000 passengers a year and is a hub for airlines like ABM Air, FlyMontserrat and LIAT. There is currently one terminal that operates in the airport. The terminal provides services and facilities like free wi-fi, smoking rooms, mini food court, retail stores, multiple VIP lounges, banking services and currency exchange.

Once you land, you have the option to take an airport shuttle or airport taxi that will take you to the city centre. Your other option is using private airport transfer, which is available on our website. We offer transfers to the city centre of St. John's and also to other locations on the island. They are English Harbor, Galley Bay and Willikies.

The private airport transfer is a fast and easy way to travel between your airport to your location. We work with experienced and professional drivers that will welcome you in front of the gate and make sure you comfortably arrive at your destination. Avoid the crowds of the public transport in Antigua and choose to travel directly to your hotel with professional airport taxis.
